NATO SFA COE participated in the EU/NATO seminar
On the 16th of June, the NATO SFA COE joined the Seminar
on EU-NATO training and education lessons identified and best practices
during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, organised by the European Security and Defence
College (ESDC) and the Allied Command Transformation (ACT).
The seminar aimed to share best practices in training and education, to
identify lessons learned and support training and education institutions within
the EU and NATO, following more than a year since the outbreak of the
SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.
The event consisted of two parts:
- The first was a plenary session where the support training and education
institutions of NATO and EU (NATO Defence College Rome, European Security
Defence College Brussels, NATO School Oberammergau, Joint Force Training Centre
Bydgoszcz, the National University of Ireland, Maynooth) explained the changes
undergone in the E&T sector due to the pandemic;
- The second was a discussion
session where major SMEs in the E&T sector identified common strengths and
best practices to be implemented jointly, in promoting the best training solutions, in terms of
reachable audience and availability of lecturers.
The meeting was an opportunity to take stock of the situation concerning
lessons identified during the pandemic period and deepen cooperation among the
major support training and education institutions of NATO and the EU.
The event was especially fruitful in order to improve the processes and
procedures for lessons identified and education and training standards.
